Which Paintings Are Inspired by Which Tribes?

It's probably the most common question my team and I get... "which tribe is _______?" Or "do you have any paintings that are inspired by _________ tribe?" Often times people are looking for a historical figure from a certain tribe. Sometimes I have to tell people I don't have what they are looking for because the truth is I really just have to paint what comes to me and many times I am inspired to paint the same tribe over and over because that's what I'm most familiar with or I have studied the most, or maybe I just connect to it for some reason.

Also, every painting I create can't necessarily be assigned to a tribe. All my work is part of the human tribe; a sting that connects us all to each other, to nature, to our spirit. My paintings are to remind us of our more primal selves, the connection we can have with the mind, body and soul, if they can be assigned to a tribe that's great. But if they can't, I think that's great too. My art also exists to make you think... what tribe do you think? I want the viewer to tell me what my art means. I learn from what my collectors and fans say my work means to them. I don't always want to make assignments of meaning.

That said, I know the question remains, and it's a good question. So here is a list of my paintings organized by tribe. Also included in this list is a note as to whether the subject of the painting is a historical figure. If I do not note "historical figure" then the character is imaginary, but is real to me.

Algonquin
